UMaestro

UMaestro is an online platform for people with visual disabilities, to learn how to play the piano with the help of experienced piano instructors in Greek. This platform offers online live classes and pre-recorded audio content. UMaestro has also sound detection, so it makes it easy for anyone to connect on their own. In addition, UMaestro can rate people and tell them how good they play the piano, if they play the notes wrong, if they play in the wrong speed or in the wrong speed.

People can subscribe in this platform for 3 months for 50 euro or for 1 year for 500 euro. If they want to learn from experienced piano teachers they can schedule the day and the time they want to take a class and if they want to learn alone how to play the piano they can know if what they play is right or wrong.

There are many apps that help people play music such as WhiteNote, Big Bright Keys, Eensy Harp and Magic Piano in English but there are no platforms like UMaestro in Greek. In our team, two of our members know how to play music and we have communicated with piano teachers that have students with visual disabilities and they try to find a way to help them and to make it easy for them to learn how to play the piano.

This platform was implemented in the context of "Digital Innovation and Entrepreneurship" in the University of the Aegean. The purpose of this platform is to give equal opportunities to all people and not deprive anyone of learning music.
