The ice house



Description
My idea is to open an ice cream shop that primarily sells ice cream, but may also specialize in other frozen treats such as milkshakes, gelato, frozen yoghurt and sorbet. Opening an ice cream shop is an attractive option since they don't require expansive kitchen or seating areas, and ice cream remains an extremely popular food, especially in the summer. Traditionally, ice cream shop customers order from a menu of select items. However, we want to allow to our customers to make their own frozen treats, before charging based on product weight.
It is also necessary to hire people who will provide good and quality service to our customers. I'll need to consider how much i can pay my stuff and how much help i'll need to run the shop. I'll need to have a good plan to stock up savings in the summer months to cover costs in the slow season ( especially in the winter).
Especially in tourist places like Greece where summer lasts almost 6 months, there is a lot of competition. I need to make a good promotion of the product, which will attract customers to buy ice cream from our ice cream shop, by allowing them to prepare their favourite ice cream with good quality of the product.
Sticking to a predictable route allows word of mouth to spread about our truck. Kids who have barely learned to tell time can somehow keep track of when to expect the ice cream truck. If we vary our routes, visiting different neighborhoods on different days, consider printing flyers to let potential customers along your route know when to expect you. We can also smplify our sales by reaching out to local schools, sports teams and nonprofits to make our services are available. We need to talk to local event planners about being incorporated into their fundraisers, and look into becoming a sponsor of a local Little League team with plans to show up at each and every game.
Instagram is a great outlet to post delicious pictures of the ice cream we are serving, while we can tweet out our daily location, so our loyal customers always know where to find us. Maintaining a presence on social media is also a great way to stay in touch with our customers. We'll establish a website, a Facebook page, Twitter, Instagram feed or TikTok account to keep customers aware of new ice cream flavors we start carrying and any changes to our hours or route. We can also offer special deals to customers who follow us on social media to help spread the word.
We'll have to admit that there are also cons we should reduce by opnening an ice cream shop. Mobile ice cream shops have much less storage space than traditional ice cream shops, so we won't have the space to store multiple containers of each flavor of ice cream. Alongside storage space, mobile ice cream shops have less room inside - less room for employees and appliances. But we'll try to make our employers to feel comfortable as much as we can.
