Climate smart farming technologies for cities

The main idea is to provide technical service to people living in cities to develop sustainable farming solutions that can produce food for their families in a sustainable way. The people will be provided with customized ideas for food production to contribute to food security initiatives and to promote adoption of innovative food production certificates.

This idea is to contribute towards reduction of climate change by producing food in a more sustainable way to meet rising demand of food.

The target market will be people living in the cites and technical services to other organizations including Non-Governmental Organizations, Government departments and other groups.

The main revenue will be services from technical expertise provided to the cities and also complementary agricultural inputs including water harvesting tanks, seeds, small livestock, organic fertilizers and others.

The owner of this idea has vast experience of over 15 years as a development facilitator and project manager and having successfully contributed in managing development projects in the public and private sector. I have masters degree in in agriculture, climate change and project management.

Following outbreak of covid-19 and associated economic setbacks a lot of people have seen an interest in food production as they have lost employment however there is limited technical skills availability. secondly more people have been more health conscious and are now opting to food that has been produced using good agricultural practices and food safety standards. As a result there is a niche market that needs to be taken advantage of in the agriculture sector especially in cites where majority of people buy food.
