Cigarette Waste Recycling

Description
Thousands of cigarette butts are dumped on the streets every day, polluting the environment. The cigarette butt is made of cellulose acetate, a plastic filter that is not completely biodegradable, so it takes about ten years to decompose completely. This is very important to address in order to protect our environment, because our lives depend entirely on the environment.
There is a solution to this problem, and that is the recycling of cigarette waste, ie the cigarette butt. One kilogram of cigarette waste consists of approximately 30,000 cigarette butts. This problem is widespread in larger countries. Recycling the rest of the cigarettes will not only solve this problem, but also protect the environment and get a useful natural substance from which pillows, mattresses, teddy bears can be made, and that is cotton. From the paper and tobacco found in the cigarette it can be turned into cotton with a special processing of the same.
For the obtained products such as production for sleeping pillows, mattresses, teddy bears, and even high quality cotton jackets there is a very extensive market with large and satisfactory profits. You can also get products for thermal and sound insulation using it in construction.
The collection of cigarette waste will be done by opening a special waste only for that purpose. The garbage will be purchased at a certain price. With this we will direct the population to be conscientious and cultured and to maintain cleanliness. The baskets will be locked and easy to empty, so that our employees or volunteers at the end of the week will pass and empty each of the bins. Thus, on a weekly basis, at least 50 kg of cigarette waste would be collected only from our placed bins. Each individual can do the same for us, by collecting an appropriate amount of garbage, and then be purchased by us for appropriate price.
The equipment for recycling cigarette waste is very simple, and at an affordable price. About two operators are needed in the laboratory. Two more employees are needed in waste and garbage transport, which is not a big investment to start with.
The processing of cigarette waste is completely simple. The waste is poured into special tubs where we have complete washing and removal of dirt. Then they are divided into smaller quantities and through conveyor belts go to a tub of boiling water with special chemicals. Here the process will take about 3 hours, and then the porridge is redirected with specially designed large tubes where the last stage is, and that is drying. A light brown cotton is obtained which is sent to a further stage for preparation suitable for each product.
We will get the obtained cotton more as raw materials of the factories that deal with the production of textiles, fabrics, clothes, instead of us dealing with that production of those products. Whichever main market is directed to companies to make teddy bears and toys for children from clothing will, would our product be completely organic without any harmful impact.

Sustainable Development Goals

12. Responsible Consumption and production

By collecting cigarette waste we will contribute two things, and that is obtaining a new raw material, cotton used in the textile industry and environmental protection.
