3D printing has been a fast-growing industry together with the market for the products made through 3D printing it’s expected to have an annual growth of 28% by 2028 which makes it a perfect opportunity for someone to invest in it especially in a place like Macedonia where such business almost doesn't exist. The business is imagined to be separated in 3 parts or 3 factions, each one of them will have different way of working and will have different budget and with that different revenue.
The first part will be designed as a local place for local customers or even simpler orders online. For example, if you want some simple piece that can be easily designed by one of the designers or if you already have it designed you can just bring it in the store or make an order online for us to create for you so you can pick it up or have it delivered once it’s done. This faction of the business would have quite small revenue mostly because its not expected that there will be a lot of interest since it will be mostly local.
The second faction will work as one kind of “mass production” once there is a interest for a certain product, this faction will sell all their products online on different internet sites. It will be able to produce and sell all kinds of products from action figures, phone masks, home decorations if you can think of it, it can be there. Since it will only take once for the design too be made or found or taken from somewhere it will allow a lot faster process of creation of multiple items. This faction should have quite a good revenue since it will be selling items worldwide and it will have shipping all over the world.
The third and probably the faction with the least amount of work but with the biggest amount of revenue is imagined as a place where people and companies who have some very specific design that they can’t buy anywhere or a part that they can’t create on their own will come to get it done. For example, some company has a certain machine on that machine a certain part has been broken and they only way for them to get it replaced is if they make it through 3D printing and that’s where we come in and we offer them a big price, a big price but still a fair price which they will obviously pay since they don’t have any other solution for it to be created by us.
With combining all three faction my business would be able to compete on different levels also the lack of competition in the 3D industry and in 3D market makes Macedonia the perfect place for this kind of investment.
To make sure that our business is eco friendly we will be using biodegradable plastic for the creation of our products. We will also make sure that even though we work with plastic to be as green as we possibly can in the way we conduct and advertise our business.
As for the marketing strategy we will try to be present on most of the big social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok and YouTube, which will raise our popularity especially between the younger community, we will also have some small neon sign in front of the store.
If everything goes as planned we should get the initial investment back in the first two years of the business working and some 4 or 5 years down the line we could start thinking about expanding the business.
