Restaurant
Description
I want to open a restaurant in the center of Kumanovo, at the location where Brooklyn restaurant is right now. That restaurant is losing workers right now, and the business is about to go bankrupt, so I would take their location, since it is the best in town.
The restaurant would offer diverse types of food and drinks. People would be able to sit in the huge area available, or they could order food to go. This market meets the most primitive need of any person and that is food. The main revenue generation mechanism is of course, the food, drinks and the service that the restaurant offers.
I personally know a lot of the staff working at the current restaurant, so I would offer some of them a job at the new restaurant. I would also invite family members, my girlfriend and other people with experience that I know. I could help in the kitchen when I am available.
I would hire one of my friends to create a website that would have the location of the restaurant, photos and videos of the restaurant and events, links to social media, as well as the menu, special items on the menu, upcoming events and other similar things.
I would create a QR scannable menu that would be placed on every table, so people would not need to wait for the waiter to bring them a menu.
Special items would be offered, as a result of something new I learned to cook, or because some products would expire soon. Special items also include drinks on special occasions like a football match, some event, etc.
Separate part of the menu would offer healthy products since I have knowledge and experience with healthy diets. Low carbohydrate, no gluten, healthy fat products etc. would be offered since it is hard to find these kinds of products and is frustrating as someone who wants to keep their diet in check.
During special occasions, a band, a singer, or a DJ would be invited, and the big tables would be replaced with smaller, taller tables for drinks only that would enable us to make parties as well.
Before opening the business, I would gather some more money, and take a loan for the missing amount of money needed to open the business. The loan would later be paid off with the revenue that the restaurant is making.
In the future, the single restaurant can be turned into a restaurant chain, with a restaurant in the capital city of Skopje. A bar can also be opened, that server only drinks, but with a larger capacity and area so that it can be used for parties as well. In that case, the restaurant would no longer make parties, instead it would only serve as a restaurant, so I would not lose profit by not serving food.
I could hire my friend again, to make a data analytics software that would show the products that make the most revenue, as well as the products with the least revenue. In that way, I could update my menu and logistics to increase profitability.
I would do everything in my power to pay my workers well enough, since I have seen lots of restaurants and bars that pay minimum wage, and then the workers leave. I would also like to meet every worker personally, and be in the restaurant as often as possible, to observe what is going on, what are the people's needs and what I can do for them, for them to feel good about this job and to keep working here.
