Flower (plant) nursery

Description
My idea for a small businees is a flower (plant) nursery, where flower are seeded, grown and sold. The plants can be sold to home gardeners or to commercial entities such as landscape companies or markets. It’s not as simple as planting a seed, raising a flower and selling it – even if i have the greenest thumb imaginable and love plants. I plan to get professional training for this, to be able to identify plants and it`s problems (such as fungus, disease and insects). I must follow steps from the start to the “sell ready” stage of a plant. The positive thing is that I live in an area with a long growing season, so I don`t need to invest in artificial lighting, and heat. I plan to sell to walk in customers or deliver them to buyers. I`ll begin all of this in my spare time, even as a family venture. The smallest of children can push seeds into soil. If I`m satisfied with the results, I`ll add employees (even part time seasonal employees) as needed. People are working from home and enjoying working on their home environment. I`ll take courses, go to plant and garden shows, to find out the types of plants I want to grow and sell. Also I have to know my target market. When the business plan succeds , I`ll increase it by hiring employees, register a name of the company, open a bank account, get permits and licenses. In most countries, a Nursery Floral License is necesary . I`ll get Business Sellers Permit because I’ll be selling a taxable item. And also an insurance, specified for this business. Because I`ll be growing outdoors, I may be able to purchase crop insurance (so that I can make a claim for damages in the event of catastrophic damages, such as hail or flood). I`ll provide equipment: a few hand tools, potting soil, pots and containers, seeds, starter plants (for cuttings), gardening gloves, watering equipment and my irrigation method - supply my water from my own well. I`ll use social media such as FB and Instagram to promote my business.

Sustainable Development Goals

1. No Poverty

This plan outlines a cost-effective and sustainable approach to poverty alleviation and promote tree plantation at suburban and semi-rural areas.
No poverty means that everybody has enough money for their basic needs. No Poverty is the top priority among 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

2. Zero Hunger

Health and well-being might be described as the absence of “negative” things, like mental distress and physical illness. A more positive well-being definition might be the maintenance of physical, mental, and emotional stability and balance — not just the absence of illness. There are many different factors that can affect your health. These include things like housing, financial security, community safety, employment, education and the environment. These are known as the wider determinants of health. What wellbeing means to me? - being comfortable, healthy or happy. It is important to realise that wellbeing is a much broader concept than moment-to-moment happiness. While it does includes happiness, it also includes other things, such as how satisfied people are with their life a whole, their sense of purpose, and how in control they feel.

8. Decent Work and economic growth

Economic growth should be a positive force for the whole planet. This is why we must make sure that financial progress creates decent and fulfilling jobs while not harming the environment. Promote development-oriented policies that support productive activities, decent job creation, entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation, and encourage the formalization and growth of micro-, small- and medium-sized enterprises, including through access to financial services. decent work for all women and men, including for young people and persons with disabilities, and equal pay for work of equal value. Preserving the environment is key to support sustainable economic growth as the natural environment plays an important role in supporting economic activities. Sustained and inclusive economic growth is a prerequisite for sustainable development, which can contribute to improved livelihoods for people around the world. Economic growth can lead to new and better employment opportunities and provide greater economic security for all.

15. Life on Land

A flourishing life on land is the foundation for our life on this planet. We are all part of the planet's ecosystem and we have caused severe damage to it through deforestation, loss of natural habitats and land degradation. The evolution of the flower represents the high point of plant evolution. Flowering plants today include most of the plants humans eat or drink, such as grains, fruits and vegetables. Seed plants are everywhere around you as you walk outside. Some are obvious, like sunflowers that produce sunflower seeds. Others aren't as obvious, like redwood trees.

17. Partnerships

Partnerships bring our goals closer to achievement. When we work together towards the same goals, we have the power to achieve them all. Sharing goals means sharing a vision.
