The app will scan food packaging and will present the ingredients to the users. Specifically the user will be able to input the ingredients he would like to avoid in the app’s filter and then scan the product. Thus the application will show the nutrients and the ingredients of the product and it will highlight those he would like to avoid in red. Additionally the app will have premium packets available, which upon purchase will give the user access to extra functions such as : the option to compare up to 6 different products for the user to deduce which one has the highest nutritional value, the use of the application without the projection of ads, and the use of the app even without access to internet(There is a one-month free trial of Foodscan Premium).

The app attempts to fulfil the consumer’s need to know the ingredients as well the nutrients of a product without facing difficulty that comes with having to read small fonts or being afraid he might overlooking an element he wishes to avoid.

The app is addressed to anyone who wishes to know exactly the ingredients and nutrients of the products that they consume. This would mainly benefit people with allergies or people with specific dietary needs such as vegans, vegetarians etc. It would also make the contents easier to read for people that have difficulty reading, such as elderly people.
