Description
The main idea is to build a company which aims at developing a new way to rent a car, and the goal is to promote this idea to business which rent vehicles. The innovation we are aspiring to create would include an NFC technology constructed via Arduino, in addition to a mobile application designed and used to authenticate the users identity to provide access to unlock the car, and also a web application that the users will log in to, so to make reservations, and the business’s owners will use to keep in track with their clients.
The Magic:
The main purpose of this attempt is to make the whole process of car rental easier, faster and safer both for the client and the provider. Thanks to the NFC technology, unlocking the car will need less than a few seconds. The mobile application will also contribute to simplifying the users access, and it will also provide security for the driver, with an existing option to enable GPS tracking in case of an emergency.
The revenue mechanism / the market :
Concerning the cost, we will analyze every component that contributes to the final outcome, including our expenses and our charges. First of all, the hardware we need for this innovation costs around 0.5 euros per piece to purchase. We also need to take into consideration the installation of the hardware onto the vehicles. The engineering responsible for this job will at least receive 3 euros for their services per vehicle. After taking on a research we came into the conclusion that an average car renter uses about 80 cars during the summer season. The cost for such a business would be at least around (0.50+3)*80=280 for what analyzed previously, and we also need to take into consideration the cost for the mobile and web application. The subscription to this project could be from 6 to 12 months. There will also be discounts concerning larger companies which own more cars.
